Since its inception, the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine program has been providing significant support to Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses and startups, which helps to increase their competitiveness on the domestic and international markets by introducing smart technologies, increasing their efficiency and dynamic growth thanks to innovations.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Program has focused on quick assistance to SMEs, the Government of Ukraine, key alliances, clusters and associations. Since February 24, 2022, support has been provided to more than 1,300 small and medium-sized businesses in the field of IT, the food industry, the production of furniture and home decor, the fashion industry, and other industries. In total, the businesses that received support generated $69.6 million in sales, attracted $19.7 million in investment, created more than 2,300 and retained more than 9,500 jobs.
The USAID program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” will continue to support Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses, promote the strengthening of their competitive advantages, the realization of the potential of entrepreneurs, in order to ensure the stability of the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, the Program remains at the forefront of reforms such as deregulation, investment promotion efforts, etc.
